How Does Lobo Play in Injustice?

We finally have a gameplay video for Lobo, let's see how he plays...

A (titular) question I have been dying to have an answer to.  Fortunately it is one I now have an answer to, with the release of a video of actual game play footage where we can watch the DLC character beat on Batman for a while.  With no further ado, let’s get to the fighting!

The Main Man

Lobo immediately shows some fairly impressive attack range using a shotgun to hit low, a weapon he eventually displays as being capable of hitting his opponent just about anywhere at medium to close range and even advancing a step before immediately firing again.  He shortly swings his famous hooked chain and, with a bit of meter-burning, dashes closer as well before using a grab which he also burns meter on.

His hooked chain once again becomes relevant when he knocks Batman into the air, flinging the chain up after him to grab him and pull him back down flat on the ground, letting his target stand back up, then hooking him again to pull him closer before shotgunning him away once more.

The chain makes still another appearance (after a few more shotgun blasts to Bruce Wayne’s noggin) as a long-range sweep, grabbing Batman’s leg and pulling him under Lobo’s for a good old-fashioned curb stomp.  One last move Lobo displays is a roll that advances him forward well under the attack range of mid attacks about the same distance and speed as a good dash.

Lobo’s super move has him smack once with his chain to stun his target, then ride the Space Hog onto the battlefield.  He hits his opponent, sending them flying up and over his head for a shotgun blast before they land behind him, where he revs the Space Hog’s engine to blast them with the flames from his ride.  He also flicks them off.

One very important thing to make note of is Batman initiating a clash in reaction to a long-range shotgun blast.  As much as Lobo uses his shotgun, being able to clash it is an important thing to remember.

All in all, Lobo looks to be another solid addition to the lineup for Injustice: Gods Among Us.  He has good range in multiple directions, gap closers, solid juggle potential, and even a bit of rudeness for the character’s sake.  Look for him becoming available soon.
