Whenever a new blockbuster game comes out, everyone wants to know which version runs the best. Unless you have a high powered PC (in which case, no contest), it’s certainly a question worth asking, and finding the answer helps to give us insight into how each console functions under the hood. The team over at Digital Foundry is at it again, and they’ve got an answer for you.
This probably should have been foreseen, but like Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline before it, Star Wars: Battlefront runs a tick better on PlayStation 4 than Xbox One.
- PlayStation 4: 1600×900 (900p)
- Xbox One: 1280×720 (720p)
These are the exact same resolutions that the game ran under during the beta back in October, so for those hoping for a slight boost, you might be left a bit disappointed.
However, the slightly lower resolution is offset by how well the game manages to hit and stay at a flat 60fps for the most part on both platforms. Check out the videos below.

Quick Take: It’s clear that DICE’s main objective with Battlefront was nailing 60 fps over 1080p, which is always the right move. The company was desperate to avoid the launch issues that plagued Battlefield 4 in particular, and so far in my time with Battlefront, they appear to have succeeded.
