I’m a huge fan of trying to spread gaming and gaming culture as far as possible. A few weeks ago I wrote up an article hyping up the Brasil Game Show information release, but today I was shown another similar event, being held in India. This event, dubbed “BYOC 2013,” showcases huge potential. Not only is India a very rapidly growing nation, but the event centers itself around competitive gaming, with over 60 hours of non-stop tournament gaming across huge titles, and large main sponsors such as ASUS and NVIDIA.
Another interesting feature of the festival is the game selection. Here’s a list of the games and their prizepools:
As you can see, Counter-Strike 1.6 is listed as the premiere Counter-Strike game. In addition, Call of Duty 4 is still featured on the circuit. If you were a fan of professional gaming back 4~5 years ago, you’ll be sure to love this event.
One unsettling thing that I’ve noted is the lack of a stream link on their website. I’ve reached out to the event hosts, Xstreme Gaming, to see if this truly is the case.
