The third in a series of character trailers for the upcoming game Injustice 2, “Shattered Alliances: Part 3” debuted today on the official Injustice and DC Entertainment YouTube channels. This trailer spotlights Supergirl, her arrival on a post-Regime Earth, and her meeting with a famous relative — the Man of Steel himself.

We follow Kara Zor-El as she leaves Krypton alongside an infant Kal-El, seconds prior to the planet’s explosion.  But along the way the two are separated, and Kara follows her cousin to Earth decades too late (apparently space travel cuts down on your aging) to find Superman imprisoned and a planet trying to put itself back together.

Supergirl apparently isn’t completely on board with Superman’s totalitarian take on world peace, and the trailer hints at a Kryptonian powered showdown with Kal — not surprisingly taking a “your’re either with me or against me” stance.

Other heroes include Black Adam, sporting a new outfit complete with a cape and an impressive pyramid-smashing super move.  Wonder Woman is also referenced — comic fans will remember Supergirl training under the Amazon for a time to better understand her powers.

Injustice 2 launches May 16 of this year.  It’s worth mentioning that pre-ordering will mean access to another Superman character — the iconic villain, Darkseid. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more news as the release draws closer.
