Okay, so maybe they haven’t created a new smash franchise in a while. So what? Insomniac Games, especially for PlayStation followers, will always remain one of the very best studios on earth.
They prove it with their wonderfully hilarious Crazy Ride mock music video, released to celebrate no fewer than 20 years of development excellence. It reminds us that even though none of us really considered it “cool” at the time, looking back now, the ’90s actually had some appeal. …never thought I’d see it that way.
It also reminds us that franchises such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and Resistance will go down in history as some of the best and most important IPs ever. If you’re looking for a nostalgia trip, you’ll definitely appreciate what Insomniac is throwin’ down in this vid.
Some will argue that Insomniac should’ve remained a first-party Sony studio, and I can understand those wishes. After all, that’s when we saw the team’s best stuff, right? And Fuse wasn’t exactly the greatest thing ever… However, when you’ve got talent like that, you want to bring it to as many gamers as possible, which makes perfect sense.
At any rate, I’m pretty sure that Ted Price shouldn’t quit his day job. I mean, this is totally memorable but he’s no rockstar front-man, that’s for sure.
