Interplay, former publisher to such games like Fallout, Fallout 2, Descent and Planescape: Torment have purchased the Freespace IP from THQ and Volition for a mere $7,500. The deal was made after THQ gave up the IP on May 10th but only made official on June 4th. This news comes as somewhat of a disappointment to fans of the space-adventure series as Interplay has been recently rather cagey with the details of their projects. Most notably Fallout: Online that was cancelled last year after a legal dispute with Bethesda.
