Bandai Namco’s latest iteration of the Tekken series has been gaining interest from fans and fighting game enthusiasts alike. The console version, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is currently in development and scheduled to release in 2017.
Among all the questions surrounding the game, a fan asked about cross-platform play via Twitter. The question was directed to game director, Michael Murray. Murray was quick to respond that the decision would be up to Sony.
@IPT_eL please ask Sony. MS already publicly said they’re interested in cross platform

It’s known that Microsoft does support cross platform support for titles. One recent example would be Rocket League. Microsoft has indicated that they would be in support for play across Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
The deciding factor, however, is Sony. Sony has said publicly they would be interested in having the conversation with developers and publishers who would like to have the feature. It’s unknown if this conversation can happen or would happen among the companies. It’s important to note that Sony has years of cross-platform support with PC.
Whether the feature will come to Tekken 7 remains to be seen.
