Larian Studios launched their second Kickstarter campaign today for Divinity: Original Sin 2. This comes two years after the first Divinity: Original Sin; the team was able to raise $944,282 for the first game. The goal for the sequel set at $500,000. The team has reached $292,456+ (a number rising each second) already, making it safe to assume that they will hit their goal and more with 34 days to go.

For those who haven’t played the original game, should probably give it a look, now on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One. Praised by many, earning a Metacritic score of 4.5/5. Fans of Dragon Age: Origins and Baldur’s Gate will find a lot to love in the original game, which was nominated for and won a staggering number of Game of the Year awards in 2014.

About the game

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is  being described as:

a single- and multiplayer top-down, party-based role-playing game with pen & paper RPG-like levels of freedom. It features turn-based combat, a strong focus on systematic gameplay and a well-grounded narrative

The new game will focus on origin stories, you’ll be able to select a single character and choose their starting stats, race, and origin. After which, you’ll be able to recruit three companions, all with their own origin story. The game’s multiplayer will allow for you to play with up to four players competitively or cooperatively.

In competitive questing, you may have different plot lines from other players that will put in conflict with party members.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be similar systematically to its predecessor, but enhance things such as crafting, narrative, skill schools, abilities, and so on.

The game will also feature two-player split-screen on the same PC screen via Keyboard and mouse for one players, and game pad for the second player.

As of now, there are no stretch goals for the game. If you’re interested in helping fund or learning more about Divinity: Original Sin 2, watch the campaign video and follow the link below.
