Thanks to a press release from The Hollywood Reporter, we can watch a ten part mini-series based on the newly released video game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. You can find the first five episode at Disney.com, Disney’s YouTube channel, Disney’s Roku, and available Xbox apps.
The series starts with Loki being able to amplify and improve other mutant’s abilities. Loki, being the villainous mastermind he is, has brainwashed and recruited several other cannon “evil doers” to join in on the world domination plot. It’s up to Spider-man and the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. to stop this menace. The journey these heroes are on is aptly named, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overdrive.
LEGO already has two successful cartoon series, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and Legends of Chima. It should not come as a surprise there are talks of making this into another successful cartoon series. With Disney having control over Marvel’s properties, due to a recent merger, and a Marvel toy line that has sold very well, we may end up seeing a full movie if all goes well. Come February 7th, The LEGO Movie will be hitting box offices everywhere.
It looks like Disney is more than happy to cash in on this franchise, and I’m more than happy to fork over my wallet. The quality of LEGO is great, then added with a beloved franchise of mutants, with one of the worlds best entertainment company’s… well, I think you get the picture. We have a winning formula here, and much like LEGO Deadpool above, both parties should be laughing all the way to the bank.
