The developers at CorridorDigital made a live-action short displaying Luigi’s competitive advances when trying to beat his brother Mario’s score. In Mario Skate, you’ll the happiness and woes of being Mario’s brother, Luigi.

About the short

Competitive Luigi takes to his electric long board skating through a city while avoiding terrain and the special effects that come along the way. While the video is only 2 minutes and 20 seconds long, the developers added in many Mario Kart esque features that add some animated nostalgia to this live-action. Some of the special features included are the popular foes from Mario Kart

  • Bullet Bill
  • Green Turtle Shells
  • Bowser Statues
  • Thwomp

While some of those are foes, friendly Mario Kart and Mario related features were also incorporated:

  • Bricks and Question-Mark Blocks
  • Speed Strips
  • Red Mushrooms
  • Mario Kart finish cup
  • Coins

How’d they make it?

CorridorDigital also uploaded an informative video onto their other YouTube channel, samandniko called “Making of Mario Skate!”. Below you can feature just how this mastermind of a live-action came into development.
