No, I’m not kidding, different game servers such as League of Legends’ and DotA 2 are being attacked by an individual -or a group- who goes by the name of “DERP“.
DERP is supposed to be DDoS’ing the servers of big games, including League of Legends, DotA 2; but not stopping there, as this person, or group, has also attacked Club Penguin, and even Battle.net, as reported over Reddit and live-streamer Phantoml0rd’s Twitch stream.
The attacks seems to be happening not because of the games themselves, but because of some sort of…inconvenience between DERP and Phantoml0rd, as the attacks are always aimed to the servers of the games Phantoml0rd starts streaming.
It all seems to have started when Phantoml0rd started streaming a DotA 2 match, and DERP threatened to attack the game’s server if he lost the match, something that happened as soon as Phantom’s team started going in the “wrong direction”.

That’s how it all began. After that, it all just got crazy…

Quite an interesting way to accomplish their goal…whatever their goal is…
However, as bad as this sounds, some users are reporting that this might even be an “advertising” campaign, as PhantomL0rd seems to have gotten quite a bunch of new followers since this all began. I’ve tried to reach out to him in order to get any update in this matter.
