Madden 16, EA’s latest installment to the franchise, has decided the winner of Superbowl 50 — the Carolina Panthers.
Madden has a history of picking winners with alarming accuracy. Last year, the game correctly predicted both the winner and final score of the Superbowl match between the Patriots and the Seahawks (28-24). The win improved their Superbowl prediction record to 9-3.
According to Madden, here’s what’s going to happen:
1st Quarter: 10-0 Carolina
Carolina takes an early lead, thanks to a long kick return by Ted Ginn Jr., followed by a touchdown pass to tight end Greg Olsen. Carolina closes out the quarter with a field goal.
2nd Quarter: 17-0 Carolina
Carolina continues its attack, opening the second quarter with Jonathan Stewart rushing touchdown. Broncos still can’t find their way into the end zone.
3rd Quarter: 17-13 Carolina
Manning and the Broncos come out bucking in the third quarter, not ready to give up without a fight. Manning throws a touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders, giving the Broncos their first points. The touchdown is followed up with an interception and two field goals.
4th Quarter: 20-17 Broncos
The Broncos continue their run, with Manning throwing a touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas, to take a 20-17 lead. But with less than a minute left on the clock, Cam Newton takes matters into his own hands, scrambling and leaping over Broncos players to get into the end zone.
Final Score: 24-20 Panthers
