Earlier this week, Englishman Adam Jones was arrested after leading police on a chase through the town of Grantham. Jones admitted to police that he had learned to drive on his PlayStation.

Jones, 24, led officers on a 100mph pursuit throughout the town while in his girlfriend’s car but was eventually apprehended.

The 24-year-old not only learned how to drive on his PlayStation but also never had a license, took any kind of actual driving lesson, and was also intoxicated.

Causing thousands of pounds of damage to parked cars and property, Jones was driving so recklessly that the only way police could stop his vehicle was with a stinger spike device.

Jones was sentenced to 12 months in prison but not before the judge said this:

“You said you ‘Only learnt to drive on a PlayStation game.’ You were driving like a PlayStation game. You drove as fast as you could as if in a video or PlayStation game without any care for those around you.”

On top of Jones’ jail time, he was also banned from driving for 3 years and must take an extended test to actually receive his license.

Personally, I wish he would have told us what games in particular he played to learn his ‘driving skills’ (my guess is GTA), but this is still an awesome piece of video game news that is almost too outlandish to be real.
