A Japanese News outlet, The Nikkei, confirmed today that a web app for Mario Kart 8 is coming to smartphones and tablets.
The article is a little vague on the details of what the app will be able to do, but we do know that you will be able to check the online status of your friends.
My hope is that the app will go hand-in-hand with Mario Kart TV, where you can record and upload videos of your races and share them on Miiverse. How cool would it be to show your friends how you almost got first place but got hit by a blue shell on the last lap, right from your phone?
Hopefully Mario Kart 8 and the new system bundle will encourage more people (including my friends) to purchase the console. Otherwise I’m going to have a lot of people wanting to come over to play on my Wii U.
If you want to know more, check out Danielle’s take on the game and if it can save the Wii U and Nintendo.
Will you get the mobile app for Mario Kart 8? What would you use it for? Let us know in the comments below.
