A new trailer of Bioware’s latest action RPG, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was released yesterday’s morning. Although there’s no new gameplay footage, the trailer gives us a brief glimpse of what we can expect in the game’s journey in the Andromeda galaxy.
The video itself is made by using DICE’s Frostbite 3 Engine, and is representing the actual in-game experience. Alongside with the trailer, EA started a new tie-in website called “Andromeda Initiative.” It promotes the recruitment for exploration of the Andromeda galaxy in the game’s universe. The website also connects the events of Mass Effect: Andromeda with previous games in the series.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is the fourth entry into Bioware’s Mass Effect series. Set 600 years after the events in the original trilogy, players will take control of a Pathfinder, an agent tasked with discovering new planets in the Andromeda galaxy for human colonization. While maintaining the aspects of third-person action RPG, Mass Effect: Andromeda will feature an open-world environment for the first time in the series.
Players will be able to pilot the customizable Mako — a now six-wheeled buggy-type vehicle — to explore the new planets. Similar to the previous entries, the game features a dialogue tree, choices, romantic relationships with companions, and cooperative multiplayer.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to have an early 2017 release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
