Nintendo has released a plethora of new information about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The biggest announcement in my opinion is the addition of Mewtwo to Super Smash Bros. for both 3DS and Wii U. As of now Mewtwo is expected to be released as free DLC if you purchase Super Smash Bros. for both Nintendo consoles. They have yet to release any information about if they will offer the download for a paid price for people who only own one version of the game.
However, if you look at the broad spectrum of this announcement, this means two things. The first is that Nintendo is listening to its fan base. People have asked for the addition of Mewtwo to the new Super Smash Bros. since its announcement. Also, for people who have had issue with character balance, Nintendo has opened the door to possibly adjust characters if the community demands change.
Secondly, if Mewtwo can be added to the game post-launch, this means that adding characters to the roster is not out of the realm of possibility. It would be quite fun to see Nintendo bring back other characters from previous iterations of the game. Bringing back Solid Snake would be an excellent example, or even bringing in newcomers from other franchises such as Professor Layton or Phoenix Wright.
