NetherRealm Studios has revealed the PC system requirements necessary to run Mortal Kombat X. How much do you need to be packing in order to pull off shocking fatalities that make real football players walk away from the TV? Let’s take a look at the specs courtesy of Steam.
Minimum Requirements
- Operating System: 64-bit Vista, Windows 7, 8
- Processor: Intel Core i5-750 2.67 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz
- Memory: 3 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5850
- DirectX: Viersion 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 25 GB available space
Recommended Requirements
- Operating System: 64-bit Windows 7, 8
- Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7950
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 40 GB available space
For just a fighting game, the recommended settings look a bit on the high-end. However, looking at actual game footage and the amazing detail of the fatalities, it’s no surprise that a powerful rig is necessary to make the game look great.
Compared to other triple-A titles like Assassin’s Creed Unity, the minimum settings seem a lot more plausible. Forcing a 4 GHz processor as a bare minimum does seems a bit unrealistic, especially if that’s also in the recommended column.
Mortal Kombat X is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and will release for PC and consoles on April 14th.
