Remember when the Gameboy Color was the awesomest handheld video game unit ever?
If you recall those days with great fondness, you’ll be happy to learn that Natsume plans to release more GBC classics for the Virtual Console on 3DS. Speaking on the company’s Facebook page (and as cited by Nintendo Enthusiast), we find out that Harvest Moon did well, and the publisher has “a solid library of GBC games to draw from for re-release.”
Furthermore:
“Currently, we are working with Nintendo to re-release some more of our classic GBC games. When we have dates for future eShop re-releases (and we WILL be releasing more eShop titles), we’ll announce them on our social media first!”
After Nintendo revealed they’d bring some DS titles to the Wii U’s Virtual Console, Natsume revealed plans to do the same. Old-school GBC games on the 3DS is wicked cool, though. It’s hard not to get all teary eyed when remembering games like Harvest Moon on GBC!
Virtual Console = a godsend for long-time Nintendo followers
I’ve still got a SNES hooked up in the bedroom but I have to admit, the Virtual Console idea is fantastic. It’s really the only reason I even want a Wii U or 3DS right now. Well, I also want the portable for Bravely Default and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, ‘cuz they’re too good to miss.
