Naughty Dog, developers of Last of Us and the popular Uncharted series, have been relatively silent in the lead up to this console generation. However, tonight at the PS4 launch event, they announced a new entry to the Uncharted series.
There isn’t much to show at this moment, just a teaser trailer, but it’s sure to be exciting for fans of the studio and the series.
The trailer is simply an unfamiliar voice speaking over camera pan of a map of Southern Africa and Madagascar. There is no gameplay to speak of, and not even a subtitle for the game, but the words are interesting and Naughty Dog has teased that there are clues hidden in the trailer:
Some chains will never be broken. I lost 15 years, buried alive, erased, you left me rotting in that hell hole and never looked back. But you can’t outrun the past and when it catches up, when all your lies collapse around you, I’ll be there. Sifting through the wreckage.
The trailer also features written quotes about “God and Liberty,” certain parts of the map scratched out, and a skull with a strange crosshatch symbol marked into it, surrounded by the words Hodie Mecum Eris In Paradi.
