Video game development is a serious industry. It’s competitive, challenging, and has an aggressive market that demands perfected product and tight deadlines. Many of us on the outside looking in at these developer giants such as Ubisoft or EA often see the dream job stereotype of playing games for a living in Google-inspired, colorful offices. What many of us don’t see is that beyond those beanbag chairs and ‘take your dog to work’ days is a business that, like any other business, has its focus set on chasing the dollar signs.
That being said, veteran developer Naughty Dog has always known how to keep the mood fun and light. From early creations such as Crash Bandicoot to even modern ‘grittier’ titles like Uncharted, they’ve always managed to fill the insides of their games with a light, carefree humor that we’ve all come to know and love as a Naughty Dog staple.
With the recent release of the ‘Uncharted Collection’ on Playstation 4, Naughty Dog has released a new feature on their official site that’s giving a little something back to their gaming community. Appropriately titled ‘Uncharted Moments’, this browser-based application allows users to create their own gif (Graphics Interchange Format, or ‘cool moving picture’ for the other 99% of us) with the help of some footage of the Uncharted series.
The process is simple and take minutes to complete. Users choose a short, looped clip of Uncharted’s protagonist, Nathan Drake, followed by a background and text; either various quotes from the game or something completely unique. Either way, it’s a whole wack of fun.
Feel free to comment down below with your best Nathan Drake gifs.
