With Mass Effect Andromeda coming in only a few months, BioWare has shifted focus to a brand new IP slated for 2018. This announcement came from an EA fiscal earnings call released yesterday, and contains other announcements for Star Wars Battlefront 2, Fifa 18, and a new Need for Speed title.

This IP has been stated to be “a clean sheet design” that will change how players perceive action games. While little is known about the new IP, EA and BioWare have stated that it will “bring players together in unique ways”. Screenshots of the prototype were present in BioWare’s behind the scenes video in 2014. The IP is planned to be released in Q1 2018.

EA’s premier racing franchise, Need for Speed, will also get a release in early 2018. Need for Speed, while popular, has struggled with its last few releases. The most recent Need for Speed title was released in 2015 and got middling reviews. Hopefully, this Need for Speed will fix the faults of its predecessors and create a fantastic 2018 racer.

Fans of EA title can look forward to more news ahead.
