New Five Nights at Freddy’s game teased by creator

Despite prior claims of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise reaching its final chapter, creator Scott Cawthon has teased a new entry in the series. 

The mysterious teaser image was revealed today on Cawthon’s official site, with a tagline reading “there was never just one”. The game will apparently be set in a new sister location of the fictional pizzeria Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. 

When questioned on why he decided to continue his series despite prior claims, Cawthon simply stated: 

I never said I couldn’t change my mind. 😉 It’s not like every time I speak I’m engraving it into a stone tablet somewhere.

Nothing else has been revealed about the game, aside from an ominous animatronic face lingering behind the text. It’s unknown if this will be the new key enemy in the sister location.

The last Five Nights at Freddy’s game came in the form of spin-off Five Nights at Freddy’s World, a traditional RPG title. It received mixed to negative criticism upon release, prompting Cawthon to remove it from sale and offer refunds to those who purchased. An updated version was made available for free on Game Jolt.
