Waiting patiently for new information on the next Pokemon generation is tough, but we’re getting some more soon enough! Game Freak director Junichi Masuda will be revealing new information on Pokemon X and Y during the May 19 episode of Pokemon Smash.
Pokemon Smash is a variety program on Japanese television channel TV Tokyo. The listing for the reveal episode dubs Masuda, the “God of Pokemon games”, to be a guest star on the program. Along with this listing is a very tiny image:
The bottom right looks to be he Fairy Eevee evolution Sylveon and the bottom left looks to be Mewtwo’s new form. Perhaps it’s a screenshot from Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo’s Awakening? I’m having difficulty telling what the image at the top is, aside from some sort of water attack — If you have any idea, let me know!
Mewtwo receiving a new form and the inclusion of the new Fairy type have me excited for Pokemon X and Y.
I was initially hoping for Mewtwo to be given the first-ever legendary Pokemon evolution, but a new form may be preferable if I want to keep my favorite legendary viable. A new evolution would mean the original would be weaker. Would anyone really want Mewtwo to be canonically weaker?
Time to sit and wait for May 19 like a good little fan frothing at the mouth.
