Over the last weekend at SXSW, Telltale Games revealed new details for their upcoming entry in the Borderlands series, Tales from the Borderlands.

In the game, you will play as two different protagonists: Rhys, a Hyperion man with a robotic arm, and con artist Fiona. The story will be from both characters perspectives; however, both of the protagonists are liars, and it is up to the player to figure out who is actually telling the truth. You are playing two different interpretations of the same story, and truth can only be found  from the telling of the two different accounts.

The game is once again set on Pandora after the events of Borderlands 2 and all of the DLC. Unlike the main characters from the previous games, the two protagonists are not vault hunters, but they have their own goals, and will do what they have to in order to stay alive. There will be plenty of the crazy, out of this world action that comes with a Borderlands game, all adapted to the Telltale style of game.

Telltale first revealed Tales from the Borderlands last year, and the first episode of the new series will be released later this year. It will be interesting to see Telltale takes on the zany Borderlands style of game and mix it with their own unique way of telling stories. While this will most likely be different from anything that they have done, Telltale has a great track record and seems to know how to craft a game. I love this series, and it will be interesting to see a different take on the franchise.

Tales from the Borderlands is not the only game of the series that is coming out this year. A PS Vita version of Borderlands 2 is also set for release.
