Once again showing his spontaneity, creator of the Five Night’s At Freddy’s series, Scott Cawthon, has released the newest game in the franchise on Steam. Called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, the game appears to be a free-to-play arcade spin-off — but is something entirely different.
While the trailer and first few minutes of gameplay show off a simple pixelated game revolving around making pizzas and feeding them to children, the real game shows its face quickly, and the true Five Nights At Freddy’s experience begins, albeit fairly different this time around.
The player is still expected to fend off nightmarish, animatronic animals and last five night’s at the eponymous Freddy’s — but this time with completely new mechanics and in a brand new environment. These new gameplay elements include the removal of the traditional timer in favor of numerous small objectives, resource and money management, and personalizing and maintaining your own Fazbear brand restaurant in between watching monitors and fearing for your life.
Similar to the welcomed change found in Five Night’s At Freddy’s: Sister Location, the changes and additions to gameplay found in Pizzeria Simulator keep the FNAF format familiar, yet fresh. Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is available now on Steam.
