This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

According to someone close to the game (via Kotaku UK), Assassin’s Creed: Victory is the next Assassin’s Creed game. Slated for an autumn (or fall) 2015 release, for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Assassin’s Creed: Victory marks the beginning of a shift for the franchise, it is the first game developed outside of the main studio at Ubisoft Montreal; Ubisoft Quebec will take center stage. Ubisoft Quebec is no stranger to Assassin’s Creed however, they worked on the “Tyranny of King Washington” DLC for Assassin’s Creed III and “Freedom Cry” DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Assassin’s Creed: Victory will be the only game in the franchise coming out next year, there will be no Assassin’s Creed: Rogue type games for last generation. It appears that only current generation consoles and PC will be getting an Assassin’s Creed game.

The Tower of London on the right, and what looks like St Paul’s Cathedral in the distance.

What is in this new game?

So far, we know about a new grappling hook.

During a gameplay demonstration which starts with an Assassin, presumably the protagonist, climbing up a tower to overlook London. He then jumps down and speaks to a masked woman, who is in a horse-drawn carriage. She tells the assassin to kill a man named, Roderick Bulmer. He is apparently trafficking young girls for the Templars. During the conversation the carriage gets attacked by Templars, the assassin jumps atop the moving carriage and kills all the aggressors.

They must have good balance.

The carriage arrives at its destination, Charing Cross railway station, where Bulmer is waiting. The assassin hunts him down within the station, and this is where the new grappling hook comes into play. The assassin fires the grappling hook, enabling him to swing over and assassinate Bulmer.

Not George of the Jungle, or Tarzan, but an assassin.

The assassin manages to kill Bulmer, and starts his escape. He jumps atop a departing train, where more Templars attack, after dispatching these new foes. The assassin jumps from the moving train into a hay bale. The view then swings off the assassins and through London to the horizon. Which is when the game’s logo appears.

I have to thank Kotaku for sharing details of this, read more here.

Unity and Victory appear to be built off the same Anvil Engine, where Victory will be using a slightly newer version.

Ubisoft’s Statement

Ubisoft has now released a statement regarding the Assassins Creed: Victory leak to many outlets. It reads:

It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.
