Tecmo Koei has finally announced that Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is being developed for both PS4 and Xbox One. This version will have a new main storyline, new side missions and enhanced graphics for the next-gen.
Other features will include new modes:
- One Warrior Against A Thousand Battles-one hundred AI enemies against the player.
- New online and offline competition modes
- Duel Mode-a mix of team battles and card battles
The original version for Warriors Orochi 3 was released in 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and a hyper version exclusively for Wii U. However, in September of 2013, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate was released only in Japan for PS3 and PS Vita.
The Warriors Orochi games combine the worlds of both Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, along with characters from the Ninja Gaiden games and Alterier.
Tecmo was founded in 1967 and Koei in 1978, both companies didn’t merged into Tecmo Koei games until 2009, however, both companies still continue to develop under the Tecmo and Koei brands. Team Ninja was founded by Tecmo back in 1995, they are best known for their Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series.
Games like Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Fatal Frame, along with the upcoming Nintendo exclusive, Hyrule Warriors, were all developed by Tecmo Koei. They are also responsible for Fist of the North Star, Metroid: Other M and Quantum Theory.
Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will have more than one hundred and forty-five playable characters, each with their own unique abilities. Cameos from the Ninja Gaiden games like Ryu Hayabusa, Momiji and Rachel will be playable, along with Kasumi and Ayane from Dead or Alive, Joan of Arc, Achilles and Sophitia from Soul Calibur.
The game will also have both cross-play and cross-save support, PS3 players will be able to transfer their saves to PS4 and Xbox 360 players will be able to do the same with Xbox one. You can expect Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate to release in the fall for PS3, PS Vita, PS4 and Xbox One
