The game is currently planned for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Though the details are slim, EA invited fans to get a head start on gearing themselves up for launch by inviting them to vote on the next National Hockey League player to grace the cover of NHL 15 upon its release. The first round of voting will last until May 18th and the winner will be announced June 24 at the 2014 NHL Awards.

An official teaser trailer was also released.

NHL 15 is expected to boast improved physics, from the players to the puck, as well as an evolved Skill Stick to offer more player control. The game will also include over 9,000 individual crowd models with four times the animations included in past generations.

Improved artificial intelligence is also an expected feature in what is being called Vision AI. The improved player awareness is suggested to improve the overall flow of the game.

Certainly more details are likely to be revealed as the release date draws near, but one thing for sure is that NHL 15 will have some rather large shoes to fill. The game’s predecessor, NHL 14, won Best Sports Game in the Game Critics Awards Best of E3 2013.
