Nintendo just announced on its website that it has plans for a free 12-city Play Nintendo tour across the US, which will run from June 17th to September 5th (The full list of cities and dates can be found on their website).
Inspired by a new website and Nintendo’s push to seem even more kid friendly, the tour will have playable demos of 3DS games such as Mario Kart 7, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire — along with other prizes, giveaways, activities, and photo opportunities.
Each area of the setup will be based around different Nintendo themed property. Visitors are encourages to explore different aspects of the setup, which includes taking a picture with a giant Kirby display or sampling each Nintendo 3DS game they are offering.
In addition to the tour, Nintendo is also offering family friendly games, quizzes, and activities on their Play Nintendo website to extend the tour to people who cannot make it to any of the locations.
Nintendo has not stated any plans for running the tour again in the future.
