Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for February 13, starting at 2 p.m. PDT/5 p.m. EDT. This will be the first Nintendo Direct of 2019.
The Direct will be 35 minutes, and it will contain information on upcoming games for Nintendo Switch, including revealing some new information on Fire Emblem: Three Houses, which was revealed during Nintendo’s E3 presentation last year and is currently expected to release later this year.
During a shareholder Q&A last week, Nintendo revealed that there are a few currently unannounced games that will be released during 2019. As the company expects fans will be very excited over these announcements, some fans are speculating that these games may be revealed during this upcoming direct.
With the news of Metroid Prime 4’s delay, there also came rumors of a Metroid Prime Trilogy release for the Switch, leaving expectations high for a potential announcement during this direct. Super Mario Maker 2, a possible Pikmin 3 port, and a new Legend of Zelda title have joined Metroid Prime Trilogy among the most strongly supported reveal rumors.
Alongside those potential announcements, is also expected that Nintendo will announce that SNES games are coming to the Nintendo Online service; the rumors are based on data mining that revealed the names of several SNES classics.
This latest Nintendo direct also comes ahead of Pokemon Day, which takes place on February 26, leading to some speculation on whether there will be any information on the new Pokemon RPG that is scheduled to release this year.
We will have full coverage of the Direct following tomorrow’s stream. Check back for all of the highlights, and to see if any of these rumors turn out to be true.
