The segment saw Fallon play through a level of Super Mario Run, earning Mr. Miyamoto’s approval in the process. Much to the utter delight of Fallon, Fils-Aime then unveiled a Nintendo Switch loaded up with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

While brief, the gameplay showcased features such as dropping boulders from above to take out enemies, or sliding down a hill on the back of Link’s shield. Fils-Aime and Fallon also showcased the flexibility of the Switch by seamlessly swapping to the portable screen mode.

It’s nothing we’ve not seen before, but it’s still good to see the console in action ahead of the Nintendo Direct on January 12th. More importantly, Jimmy Fallon’s sheer enthusiasm is infectious and a treat to watch.

The Nintendo Switch is currently set to release sometime in March. As always, we’ll be sure to provide more details the moment we get them!
