It was revealed, along with the NFC support announcement, that Nintendo will be partnering with Performance Designed Products to bring a version of the class GameCube controller to the Wii U.
Though PDP have released other peripherals, across numerous consoles and PC, this will mark the first time that they have had an officially licensed product in their portfolio. Not a bad place to start.
Can’t Beat-up on a Classic
Dubbed as the ‘Wired Fight Pad’, this much demanded controller will launch along-side Super Smash Bros. for Wii U this holiday season. The Wired Fight Pad will feature fan-favorite Nintendo characters such as Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach with a shape inspired by the original Nintendo GameCube Controller.
The controller has a recommended retail price of $24.99, bringing the combined price to over $80 if you want to play Super Smash Bros. like it was 2004, and over $110 if you are picking it up on the 3DS too.
Will you be picking up the ‘Wired Fight Pad’ along with Super Smash Bros.? And do you believe it will give you a distinct advantage?
