No More Heroes 3 finally has a release date plus a snazzy new trailer courtesy of the latest Nintendo Direct.

Aliens have invaded the planet, and after reducing an entire city to rubble they’re holding an intergalactic superhero tournament to decide Earth’s fate. Travis takes part to save the planet, but it’s not as simple as that.

No More Heroes 3‘s tournaments have a steep entry fee. Travis must take on odd jobs around the city to earn enough money and take part in each trial, meaning it’s one of the only times where cutting the grass could actually save the world.

Each trial is a massive boss fight that turns into more than just a simple beatdown. Every alien Travis faces has a special gimmick, from turning the arena into a first-person horror adventure to making the fight play out in Final Fantasy fashion.

No More Heroes 3 releases August 27 on Nintendo Switch and as yet, there’s no word whether it will head to other consoles.
