If you’ve been thinking of upgrading to a Playstation 4, but still need a little nudge, Square Enix is here to help. All Playstation 4 owners are able to try out Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as part of the game’s open beta test this weekend.
The test, which started this morning and continues through April 7, allows anyone who owns a PS4 to jump into the MMO without needing to register beforehand. So easy, a toddler could accidentally jump the world of Eorzea.
In addition, this test uses the live servers which means PS4 beta testers will be playing alongside both PS3 and PC players. As a bonus, if you decide to buy the game when it finally releases (soon), the character you make this weekend will be carried over for you to use.
If you’re still not sure that it’s worth upgrading to a PS4, keep this in mind: upgrading your PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn to the PS4 version is free. So you’re only out the cost of the PS4 – which is still quite a bit of money.
