Announced today as part of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will feature an entirely new cast of characters and a supernatural mystery like none other, at least according to developer Night School Studio. It is set to release in fall 2021.

The game’s first teaser trailer showed off a bit of the eerie locales players will find themselves in and provided a glimpse of the characters that they’ll meet along the way.

Oxenfree is such a special game to us, and it has been an incredible experience to revisit this world,” said Night School’s Co-Founder and Studio Director Sean Krankel. “We’re eager to welcome our players back while inviting newcomers to embark on an adventure with an entirely new cast of characters that retains the weird, heartfelt, and personalized experience of the original.”

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will let players experience an ever-changing narrative shaped by their choices, with dialogue similar in nature to the first game. For more on Oxenfree, you can check out our review for the first game here.
