Persona 5 Coming to PlayStation 4

Atlus is bringing Persona 5 to the PlayStation 4
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

When Atlus announced Persona 5 for the PlayStation 3 but not for the PlayStation 4, I was not surprised (you can see the reveal here). Persona 4 released on the PlayStation 2 despite the PS3 having been released some time before. But now it seems Persona fans will be able to enjoy the fifth entry in the series on the PS4.

During Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show (TGS) press conference, the company announced that Persona 5 will be coming to the PlayStation 4 alongside the PlayStation 3. Originally scheduled for a Japanese release in Winter 2014, Persona 5 is now slated for a 2015 Japanese release on both systems.

The game was previously announced to have a 2015 western release date. While it is not entirely confirmed, we should expect Persona 5 to come to the PlayStation 4 in America as well.

While there have not been many details about Atlus’ new project, the developer did release a small teaser. The teaser features a young man arriving in a city. It seems that this will be the protagonist of the game, as well as the setting. He is also wearing a school uniform, meaning that the game will once again feature a cast of high school students.

Hopefully we will hear a bit more about Persona 5 at TGS. Even a little bit more information would be satisfying. Until Persona 5 releases, Atlus will satisfy our appetites with other Persona titles, such as Persona Q (see here).
