After way too long Sony will be cutting the price of the floundering PlayStation Vita by $100 starting on Wednesday, August 21 – it will now be $199.
This comes months after Japan received a substantial price cut, which vaulted sales in the region. I’d imagine Sony is trying to get the Vita on everyone’s mind as the PlayStation 4 gets ready for launch.
Sony has made clear that the Vita and the PS4 will have an intimate relationship to the extent that eventually one will have the Wii U type ability of streaming a full PS4 game onto the handheld.
Sony also announced a price cut to the exorbitantly priced memory cards, though no specifics were given. The system will also be rolling out themed bundles of 10 games in the European market. No word yet on whether or not they’ll make it to the U.S.
Will this convince you to buy a PlayStation Vita? It sure convinced me! Sound ff in the comments down below and maybe we can be the first people to figure out how the “near” feature works!
