Sony has a knack for pricing things a bit to high from the get-go, and it seems like this time is no different. They have revealed the price estimate for their upcoming virtual reality headset.

Andrew House, PlayStation’s President, said in an article to Bloomberg that this headset will be the price of a new console. Though specific figures have not been given, that’s roughly $300-$400. This comes right after Sony said they’re giving the lowest possible price they can without selling the product at a loss.

Originally titled “Project Morpheus”, it was finally given the name PlayStation VR at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Competing with other headsets like the Oculus Rift, which plays PC games, the PS VR headset plays games directly from your PS4 system. Originally, when titled Project Morpheus, the headset was going to be paired with the Playstation Move, Sony’s motion control wand. This seems to have been disbanded, as the Move hasn’t sold all that well.

The PlayStation VR Headset will launch in the first half of 2016, with more than 10 exclusive titles to choose from.
