Datamining the latest Pokemon GO update has revealed evidence for a whole suite of new features to be added to the game soon, not the least of which is the full roster of Gen 2 Pokemon.

From Chikorita to Celebi, every Gen 2 Pokemon is now referenced in the game’s code. However, it’s best to note that this is still very preliminary; there’s no moveset data attached to these Pokemon just yet, which suggests that another update on both server and client side will be necessary before we see them in the wild. As such, there’s still no release date to be gathered from this.

In addition to the long-awaited additional Pokemon, there is now code referring to a daily quest system, as well as a potential weekly bonus. No specifics on what bonuses this will offer are forthcoming, however.

While this is all merely analyzing code for the future, the latest update did add Ditto to the world, who can be found masquerading as any other Pokemon. The only way to know you’ve found one is to catch it and see!

For a full list of features found in the code, The Silph Road’s article has you covered.

While there are full blown rumors about an update coming to Pokemon GO in December, there is still no official statement on the matter just yet. Nonetheless, this is very much something to get excited for. We’ll be sure to let you know the moment we know anything!
