The Pokémon Company has revealed today some more new information about Pokémon Sun and Moon. It was shared that some creatures have adapted to different environments and gained new forms due to living in the Alola Region.
These forms have granted them new designs and elemental types as well. Some of the Alola variants shared were Exeggutor, Vulpix, Ninetails, Sandshrew, and Sandslash –These versions won’t be new entries in the Pokémon encyclopedia but instead are new updates.
The Alola Exeggutor has grown to possess an elongated neck much like a giraffe. It also now features a fourth head on its tail. The fourth head allows it to fend off attacks aimed at its lower body. Other than much bring larger this regional Exeggutor is also now a grass/dragon type whereas its original form has been grass/psychic.
The formerly fire-type fox, Vulpix has now become an ice type as indicated by its powder snow-like fur. Details state the change was due to it living in the harsh cold mountains. Vulpix’s evolved form, Ninetails has also changed to sport white fur and an ice type affinity as well.
The last of the Alola variations include both Sandshrew and Sandslash. As per the new Pokédex entry, to survive in an environment opposite of the desert, it has developed an icy shell. With an icy shell as hard as ice it has now become an ice/steel type. The changed has caused it to be heavy and slower than the original. Its evolved form, Sandslash also is slower but both are able to move quickly over ice and snow.
Among the new Pokémon that was introduced is the dancing bird Pokémon, Oricorio. Oricorio has four forms that are determined based on what nectar it may drink. Its forms are based on flamenco dancing, cheerleading, fan dancing, and hula dancing. Each form is a different type as well.
More New Pokémon details can be found via their website. RPG fans and longtime fans can look forward to Pokémon Sun and Moon this November.
