Pokken Tournament World Championship to take place this August in San Francisco

The Pokemon Company has announced that San Francisco will play host for the Pokken Tournament World Championships this August. The tournament will run from August 19-21.

In addition, Pokken Tournament will be making appearances at EVO 2016 and the Pokemon US National Championships as part of the Pokken Tournament Championship Series. 

Should you want to take part in the World Championships, you should know that it is by invitation-only. You can gain an invitation by participating in the Championship Series.

For participating and winning a series event, The Pokemon Company will award players with invitations and travel awards to the World Championships in August. While not much else is known about the series, The Pokemon Company promised that more information would be coming soon. 

Pokken Tournament is set to be released on March 18 for the Wii U.
