For the past six years, the minions over at Codemasters have been contemplating what they were going to do after the destruction of their last Overlord. Today though, those minions crawled out of their dark dungeon, or cave, or wherever minions go to hide, to announce Overlord: Fellowship of Evil.
In the new entry to the Overlord series, players have the choice of four NetherghÅ«ls, or undead servants of the dark arts. Once it the player decides which NetherghÅ«l they will use to create chaos in the world, he or she can embark upon a darkly comic quest written by the original game’s scriptwriter, Rhianna Pratchett. Also returning to the series is Marc Silk to reprise his role as the wise master of the minions, Gnarl.
If teaming up with friends is something you try to avoid, worry not as evil does not play by the rules.
The fun doesn’t stop there though as player can team up with three friends online or locally to take part in evil deeds together. If teaming up with friends is something you try to avoid, worry not as evil does not play by the rules. While no extra details on what this means, plan on there being many ways to screw over your best friend.
…no longer are you tied down to being the hero.
Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is a Gauntlet-esq Action-RPG but no longer are you tied down to being the hero. Instead, set out on quests where it pays to be bad, and it is great to be evil.
Set to release digitally on consoles and through Steam later this year, it will cost $19.99. You can see the trailer here.
So, are you excited at the return of the Overlord series, or has too much changed for you to return?
