Microsoft has opened beta registration for their new visual programming game Project Spark, a world creation game being released for Xbox One and Windows 8. People who would like to be among the first players to try/test the game can sign up now at joinprojectspark.com, while their Facebook page also promises to keep us informed.
Project Spark is the next version of Microsoft’s Kodu programming language, a programming language used to help kids create games on the PC and Xbox via a simple visual programming language. The Kodu Game Lab was released in mid 2009 as a teaching device.
While we still have yet to see the full capabilities of Project Spark, and hope to see more in the coming weeks and months, we can bet that we’ll see some interesting things come out of the beta. We know from the past in games like Garry’s Mod and Minecraft, when players are given the power to create anything, amazing things can happen.
