We all know that the current console battle between Microsoft and Sony has been continuing to heat up with both promising exciting titles and innovation. Well to get things off to a bang, Sony reported that they sold 5.9 million record-breaking units over the holidays.
With a hefty 35.9 million total console sales since it’s release in 2013, Sony has definitely made it known that they are no easy win.
PlayStation Plus sales even increased by jumping 60% higher than they were last year at this time. I think a mixture of great titles and addons like PlayStation Now and Share Play attributed to that increase.
Moving into 2016 we have titles like, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Unchartered 4, Street Fighter V, and The Last Guardian that are sure to keep the momentum going. Adding to the mix the release of the PlayStation VR and you’ve got a darn good formula for success.
When all is said and done there is still plenty of time left in 2016, the battle between Microsoft and Sony will be a rewarding experience for all regardless of how the chips fall. For those who own a PlayStation 4, I guess the one thing you can say is: “It’s good to be on the winning side.”
