It seems that Ubisoft is not ready to release Rainbow Six: Siege next month after all.
In a questionable move that voluntarily puts their game behind such releases like Halo 5: Guardians and Star Wars Battlefront, Ubisoft has made the decision to delay the game until December 1st, 2015. Ubisoft spoke on the change this morning.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, but based on the feedback we’ve received, and based on our own internal tests, we felt there are adjustments and improvements we can make, including improving the co-op experience across all game modes, weapon and gadget balancing, as well as menu and interface navigation. We’re taking a little more time to make these changes, and we think it’s the right call.”
The bug ridden alpha was still a success through popular Twitch streams
After a successful alpha test in the spring, Ubisoft seemed to be on track with making the appropriate bug fixes and balance changes needed to meet their September release window. With this move, the September 24th beta test will now serve as another bug test for the company instead of simply acting as an advanced screening since the original release date was just weeks after the September test.
“We understand that many of you are excited to get your hands on the final game, but as gamers ourselves we know that quality comes first and we are committed to delivering the best game possible.”
