As if the Activision Publisher Weekend wasn’t enough, the great folks at Steam have yet another offer available this weekend. The award-winning Rainbow Six: Siege is free to play on Steam until this Sunday, and will be available at 33% off until Monday morning.

This phenomenal FPS is definitely a game worth trying. With the original game going for $40.19 (£26.79) at 33% off, and the Gold Edition for $53.99 (£32.99) at 40% off, there will likely not be another such sale for a while to come.

The Siege-based FPS features famous Special Ops units such as SWAT, the SAS, Spetsnaz, GSG 9 and GIGN, as well as some great gameplay mechanics unique to the Rainbow Six franchise. Rainbow Six Siege also offers some of intense matches, with each and every decision making an impact on the outcome of the game.

There is also a great deal of emphasis put on the environmental surroundings within the game, with almost every surface being malleable in some way. Ubisoft Montreal paid a great deal of attention to the small details when it comes to realistic Counter-Terrorism in this manner.

According to the official website, destruction is king:

“Destruction is at the heart of the siege gameplay. Players now have the unprecedented ability to destroy environments. Walls can be shattered, opening new lines of fire, and ceiling and floors can be breached, creating new access points. Everything in the environment reacts realistically, dynamically, and uniquely based on the size and caliber of bullets you are using or the amount of explosives you have set. In Rainbow Six Siege, destruction is meaningful and mastering it is often the key to victory.”

All of these ground-breaking features (see what I did there?) make Rainbow Six Siege a game worth trying, and when you try it, you’ll definitely want to buy it too.

To download the game on your Steam client, or to buy it, you can go to the Rainbow Six Siege Steam page here.
