The gaming convention for the LGBT community, GaymerX2, has finally opened its registration. Organizers have also announced that it take place from July 11-13, 2014, expanding to the Intercontinental Hotel, Downtown San Francisco.
In response to all the support GaymerX2 has received, co-founder Matt Conn said;
“For games to be taken seriously as the pieces of art that they are, they can’t live in a culture that is afraid to tackle and discuss issues like gender, sexuality, race and identity. The amount of support that we’ve gotten for GaymerX shows that the gaming community is coming around to the idea of having serious debates on how to improve the medium.”
The number of speakers and guests for GaymerX2 has also increased. This year’s guests include David Gaider, Mattie Brice, Alexis Ohanian, Gordon Bellamy, Jaime Woo and John Scalzi. Musicians such as 2 Mello and Virt will be in attendance along with Ellen McLain, John Patrick Lowrie and Zach Weinersmith.
Registration is now available on the GamerConnect website. The tickets start at $70 and with that, you receive access to the full three days and a bag full of swag and goodies. The next price up includes the three-day pass, access to the GaymerX Mixer night, Boss Swag Bag and Boss Shirt. The Donor Level pass includes all of the above along with a donor-only luncheon, GX2 Lounge access and more.
For Indie exhibitors, spaces are also available from $149.
