Resident Evil 4 VR Mode Trailer Gives Small Taste of Upcoming DLC

The Resident Evil 4 remake's VR mode is shaping up to be one hell of a ride.

A new Resident Evil 4 VR mode trailer for PSVR 2 proves the DLC is coming along nicely. While we already knew that the recently released Resident Evil 4 remake would be getting a VR mode for PlayStation’s new headset, Capcom has reconfirmed that the DLC is still in active development.

With a small taste of what that RE4 VR mode will look like, it does appear as if we’ll be able to experience the entire campaign through Leon’s eyes — rather than the RE4 VR mode being just some side mode. That’s great for anyone that has splurged on the $550 headset and loves Resident Evil.

There’s no timeframe for when Resident Evil 4 VR Mode will be ready, but Capcom seems to be taking this very seriously. With the remake selling through four million units as of early April 2023, Capcom certainly has the chance to make VR more mainstream.

The Meta Quest 2 conversion of the original Resident Evil 4 is considered by many to be the definitive way to play the game, so Capcom will probably take some ideas from that port and incorporate them here. We can already see dual-wielding, for instance.

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode will be available as free DLC for the PS5 port of the remake sometime this year. Stay tuned for more information as we learn it from Capcom. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to dive back into the fantastic RE4 remake, a game we said “improves upon one of the most influential games of all time.”
