Capcom will be continuing their trend of porting console games to PC (except Dragon’s Dogma, unfortunately) with Resident Evil 6. Luckily enough, the PC release will be up to date with the console version of the game.
Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 6 will be released on March 22nd on PC, but there’s a bit of a difference in purchasing options between North America and Europe.
Players looking to nab the game in North America will have to go through digital distribution services (Steam), while European gamers will be able to find RE6 both via digital distribution services and in retail stores.
What’s with the difference? One can only assume that consumers in NA are more likely to pick up PC games through services like Steam than they are in retail stores. How many PC games do you see in your local GameStop, Play N Trade, or other retailer? Not many, that’s.. how many.
The PC version of Resident Evil 6 will be a bit more flexible than its console counterparts. Not only will it be getting the latest patches released to the console versions, but Ada Wong’s campaign and No Hope difficulty will be available right off the bat.
