Update – May 10: Yakuza fan site TojoDojo posted details of the Judgement 2 deluxe edition, which point to several sets of Lost Judgement DLC planned.
- Detective Life Fun Pack — releases with the main game and will “help you enjoy the main game and side content to the fullest”
- School Stories Fun Pack — additional content to fully enjoy the School Stories segment
- Additional Story — “fully packed” new story content
The original story follows:
Judgment Day has come and gone, with RGG announcing Judgement 2, aka Lost Judgement, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s a direct sequel to the original Judgment and, for the first time in Yakuza series history, it’s planned for a worldwide release on September 24.
Judgment 2 takes Yagami to Yokohama, setting of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, on a much darker journey than we saw in the first Judgment. Well, dark by Yakuza standards. For every serious crime and dastardly deed Yagami investigates, Yagami also takes part in school dance competitions and gets in boxing fights with teachers.
That’s because a significant part of the game’s side story involves Yagami going undercover at a school. Outside that, he’ll be interacting with the world in new and varied ways, including wall running and other acrobatic feats.
RGG told IGN in an exclusive interview that Judgement 2 improves the original’s brawler combat style and will continue to do so. New Judgement games will continue to be real-time brawlers, while Yakuza is transitioning fully to turn-based combat following Like A Dragon.
If you haven’t played Judgment already, now’s the time to do it thanks to the recent next-gen upgrade which we found to be totally worthwhile.
